Visit from Miss Universe Australia
Last week Miss Universe Australia, Olivia Rogers, dropped by CMI Toyota. Olivia is an ambassador for the Captain Courageous Foundation which raises funds to assist with research into the cause and hopefully potential cure for children suffering from Bone Marrow Failure Diseases.
The Captain Courageous Foundation hold a fundraising gala event every second year that is proudly supported by CMI Toyota. Each gala event CMI Toyota donate a car to be raffled off on the night. The next gala ball is scheduled to be held on 3rd February 2018 at Adelaide Oval.
Pictured above is Angus Bond who suffers from a very rare condition caused by bone marrow failure and Olivia Rogers, Captain Courageous Ambassador and also coincidentally Angus' speech pathologist.
Like any young boy, Angus Bond’s favourite things include toy cars, train tracks and animals. He loves to play outside and his quirky sense of humour is forever making his big sister Molly and big brother Ted laugh out loud.
Yet unlike most, Angus has to battle some very real monsters. He suffers from Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA), a rare bone marrow failure disorder that requires him to visit hospital multiple times each month for blood work and life-saving blood transfusions – for the rest of his life!
