Grandcarers SA Receives a Generous Donation
On Monday April 17, the CMI Toyota team were delighted to hand over the keys to a Toyota RAV4 GXL, to one incredible South Australia charity – Grandcarers SA!
Grandcarers SA are an incredible not-for-profit organisation that supports informal and unsupported grandparent and kinship carers, and the children in their care, and we were proud to be able to facilitate the donation of the RAV4 in conjunction with the CMV Group Foundation and the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation.
CMV Group Managing Director, Paul Crawford, along with CMI Toyota Sales Consultant, Danielle Anderson, met with the CEO of Grandcarers SA, Mike Feszczak, to present him with this fantastic Toyota RAV4.
Speaking with Mike, we were extremely proud to learn how much this donation means to the Grandcarers SA team.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity and support of the CMV Group Foundation and the James and Diana Ramsay Foundation.
Without a reliable car, we would struggle to support our Village meetings across South Australia,” said Mike.
Grandcarers SA facilitates ‘Village meetings’ – a support service that was born from the notion that ‘it takes a village to raise a child’. These meetings allow grandparent and kinship carers to come together in a safe space to share challenges and discuss solutions.
It also provides the opportunity for clients to provide each other with support and companionship.
“These monthly meetings offer many of our clients the opportunity to realise they are not alone and have similar challenges to many others”, said Mike.
With 13 Village Meeting locations across both South Australian metropolitan and regional areas, and more in development, the charity’s growing network of service coverage means they require more donations like this one to support the volunteer activity.
“Using this RAV4, our volunteers will be able to offer clients face to face support, arrange and deliver the Village Meetings, and take our Education and Development Fund gifts directly to those who need them”, explained Mike.
The Education and Development Fund was created by Grandcarers SA to provide informal grandparent and kinship carers, who receive minimal to no financial support, with educational resources and developmental assistance for the children in their care.
With many carers relying on their pension to provide for the children in their care, this fund helps to prevent children being unfairly disadvantaged by their circumstances.
“Thanks once again, this donation will help us to make a huge difference for those who need our support,” said Mike.
The team at CMI Toyota would like to thank Mike and the Grandcarers SA team for the life-changing support and services they provide to the South Australia community.
We cannot wait to hear of the positive impact this Toyota RAV4 will have on both the volunteers and the people they support.
