CMI Toyota have been proud to be a part of National Tree Day since 1999, and this year we celebrated again with Toyota Australia as they embarked on their 23rd year as major partner of Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.

National Tree Day is Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event, with over 300,000 participants each year, and involving more than 3,000 schools. This event plays a major role in educating our community about the importance of the environment, and the impact you can have, both negative and positive.

This year, the CMI Toyota Team were excited to assist the National Tree Day Activities at the Adelaide Secondary School of English and Kilkenny Primary School. The Adelaide Secondary School of English is a particularly special institute that prepares students who are new to Australia and the English language for transition to, and participation in, secondary and tertiary education.

Students at both schools enjoyed coming together with their classmates to learn the best practices in planting young trees and using teamwork to establish as many trees and shrubs around their school as possible on the day.

It was fantastic to see such a large number of students pull up their sleeves to help their community and environment around them with such enthusiasm and joy.

After all the incredible work by the students, the CMI Toyota team treated those involved to a delicious BBQ and beverages as a thank you for all their hard work.

Thank you to all of the students and teachers at the Adelaide Secondary School of English and Kilkenny Primary School for their support and participation in National Tree Day, which has seen 26 million trees planted in Australia since 1996.

Toyota’s long-term partnership with Planet Ark’s National Tree Day is one that aligns with their ambitious goal to achieving zero carbon emission across their operations by 2050.

The team at CMI Toyota are proud to be able to join Toyota Australia in giving back to the community and engaging in environmental activities, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
