Proudly supporting the Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club
You may recall a recent story where that local Glenelg Life Saving Club nippers rescued two tourists caught in a rip at Glenelg during a training session.
Following the rescue, Glenelg Surf Life Saving Club Junior Chairman Justin Ganley told Ali Clarke on ABC radio, it was lucky the nippers spotted the swimmers struggling in the water when they were training on the beach.
“The boys were out doing a training drill and we saw a few girls that got into real trouble. Lucky for us, our little kids got out there with their boards, they got around them and made sure they were able to float.”
Lachy aka “Nugget” told Ali the team just went straight into action to help the tourists, “It was pretty scary knowing that they were nearly going to drown. Thanks to our little team we got out there and were able to save them.”
We were proud to learn that through CMI Toyota’s sponsorship of the club, initiatives, such as their Nippers program, is helping to develop confident future life savers who will be integral to keeping swimmers safe along our coastlines for many years to come.
Through the CMV Group Foundation’s donation of a Toyota HiLux from CMI Toyota, the CMI Toyota logo is proudly displayed throughout the club rooms, on nipper boards and of course, on their HiLux patrol vehicle.
Great work Tyson Dobie, Quinn Hammersley, Gus Ganley, Astin Rouvray, Charlie Crowe and Lachy Larven!
