Toyota Scores 'Double Ton' in Local Sales.
Toyota has sold 200,000 vehicles in Australia for a 13th year and remains the only carmaker to have achieved the feat.
The "double ton" is certain to have been reached during the first weekend of December after official figures confirmed Toyota had delivered 199,485 vehicles in the 11 months to November 30.
Now leading its nearest rival by almost 93,000 sales in 2017, Toyota is destined to achieve annual sales leadership in Australia for the 21st time, including the past 15 years in a row.
HiLux has been confirmed as Australia's best-selling vehicle so far this year with record sales of 43,144 vehicles, giving it a lead of almost 4,000 vehicles going into December.
Corolla is on track to be the top-selling passenger car for the fifth year in a row with 34,712 deliveries to the end of November, representing a lead of almost 5,000 cars.
Toyota's senior divisional manager sales and marketing Sean Hanley said the company's sales so far this year represented an increase of almost 10,000 vehicles or 5.2 per cent.
"We are focused on having a strong December across the board, culminating in the best sales result in at least five years for Toyota and our dealers," Mr Hanley said.
"Toyota's momentum will continue into the new year on the back of record sales in 2017 for HiLux and RAV4, the recent launch of the eighth-generation Camry and vehicles such as C-HR," he said.
In November, Toyota delivered 18,804 vehicles - almost 700 more than the combined totals of its two nearest rivals.
Toyota's RAV4 achieved a record monthly total for the fifth time this year and is poised to exceed 20,000 sales in a calendar year for the first time.
With one month's sales to go, HiLux has already reached a new yearly record with 43,144 sales to November 30 - more than 1,000 vehicles ahead of the 2016 total.
Sales of Camry are the strongest since 2012 and LandCruiser Prado since 2014 while HiAce leads its van and bus segments.
